Happy national women’s day loves!
Woody Allen once said: “I’ve loved New York City my whole life — to me, it’s like a great woman!” and how can we argue with that?.. NYC it’s unquestionably beautiful with a big pumping heart, like every single one of us!
So let’s go back to my trip then!
This time I want to start from the beating heart of the city: Central Park!
They say that autumn is the perfect moment to visit it, the truth is that it looks just beautiful every time of the year. Enormous and vibrant but almost secretly hidden, the park is surrounded by high buildings and skyscrapers. I love parks and I spend most of my London’s weekend walking around them but walking in Central Park it’s a mystic experience, I felt suspended in a limbo between the ground under my feet and the sky above my head.
The whole city is developed around Central Park: culture, design, finance and fashion you have everything you want and there’s no time to sleep!
Among the museums my favourite is the MOMA. All the paintings and sculptures you have studied at school are probably there: Picasso, Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, Degas.. and I could go on forever!
If you like art, you can’t miss the Guggenheim and the Metropolitan museums too. There’s a stunning rooftop bar at the top of the Metropolitan museum which gives you the perfect view over Manhattan.
9/11 museum and memorial is breathtaking. There are two huge fountains exactly where the twin towers used to stand, with all victim’s names spinning around them. I will remain silent and show you some pictures, as most of the time being silent is better than saying million words.
I know, sad topic. Let’s move to something different!
If you like basketball, you probably know about the NY Knicks and their famous stadium in the city: Madison Square Garden! An infinite list of actors, politicians, musicians and athletes walked there. That is also the stadium where Marilyn Monroe gave her famous happy birthday performance for president JFK and even more interestingly, Bruce Springsteen did his concert there on my birthday!! You can simply walk in and visit the stadium, my beardy boy loved it!
You definitely cannot miss the view over Central Park from the Rockefeller Centre!
All bridges are cool I guess, mostly because nobody knows how they manage to stand but none is like Brooklyn Bridge and we had so much fun shooting it both day and night!
And oh! Don’t forget the Liberty Statue.. or people will make fun of you when you get back!
I know, I could show you at least another thousand pictures.. but I’m just starving and I want a burger. Don’t leave, I’ll be back soon!
